From 21 to 25 September 2026, the 34th Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT) will bring together the international fusion community in Aix-en-Provence, France. Researchers, engineers and industrial players will gather to discuss the latest developments and technological challenges shaping the future of fusion.
The EUROfusion Technology Transfer Programme, FUTTA IV, will also be present on the 21st and 22nd of September. We will be available at the EUROfusion stand to meet researchers and explore how technologies and expertise originally developed for fusion could find new applications in other industrial sectors.
Fusion research addresses some of the most demanding technological challenges: extreme temperatures, high vacuum, radiation, strong electromagnetic fields, advanced diagnostics, remote operations and highly complex modelling and control systems. Many of these challenges are also encountered in sectors such as aerospace, energy, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, healthcare and infrastructure.
If you have developed a technology, methodology or know-how within EUROfusion activities and believe it could solve challenges beyond fusion, or simply want to explore its potential, come and meet us at the EUROfusion stand during SOFT 2026.
A short discussion may be the starting point for a new industrial application, partnership or technology transfer project.
See you in Aix-en-Provence!
